Postgraduate coursefinder (research)
Leeds is an internationally recognised centre for postgraduate teaching and research, with over 2,000 research students and some 3,500 taught postgraduate students registered on over 469 different taught programmes. Students come from over 115 countries to make use of outstanding facilities, including our major academic research library, laboratories and computing facilities.
Research degree programmes aim to build on your existing knowledge of a subject so that, through your supervised research, you can make an original contribution to the area of study. You gain expertise in a specialist area together with training in a range of high level transferable skills.
In March 2004, in the Institutional Audit conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, the University was praised for its arrangements for the induction, supervision and monitoring of postgraduate research students.
